A Trip to Greenlake

Grandpa Penman had a surgery a couple months ago, and has just been doing fantastic! I was really impressed by his amount of energy, and sense of humor :)
While he was up here for a visit, we all decided to go to the zoo! It was the first beautiful day in months, and for some reason we thought we would be the only ones wanting a zoo outing. Bad idea! The place was packed, and as we drove past the entrance, we realized that it would be a nightmare with the kids. We opted to go to a park, and let the kids at least do something fun. By the way, we aren't just talking about my and Jonathan's kids. This is the WHOLE family...Paul and Beth's 3 kids (Haddassa, Ethan, & Hannah), Steven & Andrea and their 2 kids (Caleb & Ella), Grandpa, Cousins Keith & Anna, Mom Hawkins and most of her kids (Michael, Elizabeth, Nanna, Grace, Miriam, Sarah, Daniel, Naomi, & Faith), and then Jonathan & I, and our kids (Jason & Tyler). 24 people!

Anyhow, we went to Greenlake, and although it was busy, we had a blast! Some stayed and played at the park, while most of us walked around the lake. 3 miles!! Whew! Whats crazy, is grandpa came with us, and half the time, we were trying to keep up with HIM. :)

Here are some pictures of the day.

Cousin Maddy

Here is Tyler with Madeleine, Stephanie & Ari's little girl. They were able to stay for a couple weeks during Christmastime, which was wonderful! She is such a sweet little girl, and such a perfect mix between Steph and Ari.

At the Aquarium

We decided to treat ourselves to a trip to the Aquarium, and Pike Place Market! It was so much fun...neither of us had ever been there, and we figured Jason was old enough that he would really enjoy it. Here are some of the highlights of the trip:

Christmas Eve with the Cardinals

Another Tradition, one that my family has kept since I can remember, is Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family-the Cardinals. This year, almost everyone in the family was there, except my two cousins who live out of state. Its been awhile though since we've had everyone together...with aunts moving back to Washington, cousins home from College, and Steph & Ari home for a visit, it was a full house!
